Overview
With more design- conscious community nowadays, airbrush skills has become a high demand skill in design industry. For product design especially, more manufacturers are looking forward to come out with eye-catching design on their products, and airbrush is a way to improve their product’s look. Airbrushers too are demanded in automotive industry, promotional event, packaging design, art production, and more. To meet the market demand for airbrusher, we had developed a fast-track airbrush workshop, which is run for 7,10 or 14 days. This programme covers from fundamental of airbrushing to the advanced techniques of airbrushing. At the end of the programme, trainees are guaranteed to earn a place in the market as an airbrusher.

Who should attend?
Those who want to learn about airbrushing and enhance their airbrush techniques, those who wish to be an airbrush instructor and skill workers for auto painting in automotive industry. This workshop too is designed for those who are looking for making money as airbrush artiste.
OKU are not encouraged to take the class due to safety precautions. Trainees must not be colorblind.
Format
10% theory and 90% practical
Course Outline:
This course is geared towards those that are keen in doing some serious airbrushing and those who wish take their airbrushing to the next level. It will touch on the most basic foundation of airbrushing and how to combine that with other techniques to bring more realism to your artwork. In this course you will learn about the various components of airbrushing:
- Airbrush Equipments
- The various components of an airbrush
- Disassembly, cleaning, maintenances and reassembly of your airbrush
- Trouble shooting your airbrush
- Various components of your compressor
- Correcting pressure settings and maintaining your compressor
- Fundamentals of creating Artwork with an Airbrush
- Stencil and Template preparation
- Control and Coordination of your Airbrush
- Basic Strokes (Dots, Daggers)
- Proper paint preparation
- Paint viscosity
- Make your Artwork Pop (Shadows and highlights)
- Airbrush Effects
- Rendering rivets
- Rendering Rusted Metal
- Rendering Granite effects
- Rendering Stars and Star Burst Effects
- Rendering Rips and Tears
4. Course Project
- Trainees will be given a project to complete at the end of the course. Trainees will be required to complete their course project in 3 days.
COURSE SCHEDULE
Day1
- Ice breaking session
- Disassembly, cleaning, maintenances and reassembly of your airbrush
Black Color will be used. (How to reduced using solvents and ready to use)
- Proper Paint preparation, Paint viscosity and air pressure.
- Basic Strokes (Dots)
- Q & A session at the end of the day
Day2
- Basic Strokes (Dots)
- Dagger strokes will be taught to those that mastered the dots already.
- Q & A session at the end of the day
Day3
- Basic Strokes (Daggers, boomerang, lines, fine lines etc.)
- Comprising about 6hrs a day.
- Q & A session at the end of the day
Day4
- Finishing all the strokes.
- Moving in to blending and shading strokes.
- Comprising about 6hrs a day.
- Q & A session at the end of the day
Day5
- Blending and shading techniques.
- Play with colors. E.g.: Pink, Red, Maroon and Dark Red.
- Creating something that involves colors, strokes, blending and shading. Exp. Monster Flesh, Skulls, stones.
- 1 skull by trainer and 1 skull by student. (Staged name follow the leader.)
- Q & A session at the end of the day
Day6
- Some fun stuff. Exp. B&W Skulls, Spattering effects for granites or starburst.
- 1 skull by trainer and 1 skull by student. (Staged name follow the leader.)
- Color will be used.
- Light source will be explained.
- 1 artwork will be created. For each student. E.g: Skull. Each stage trainer will do half and the other will be done by the student. This is to show that each student has mastered trainer’s basic technique. This will continue on till the artwork is finished.
- Stages like: White base. Lightest till darkest color at the end is lighting. (Source of light)
- All basic colors will be showed and explained.
- Comprising about 8hrs a day.
- Q & A session at the end of the day
Day7
- To those who is ready.
- You will be given a project to complete at the end of the course. You will be required to complete your course project in 3 days.
NOTE: Each student will be given a different project!
- This is where all the Q&A session will take effect, all the strokes, fun stuff will be thrown in...
- Some fun stuff, like chains, rivets, marbleizing will be thought.
- Comprising about 8hrs a day.
- Q & A session at the end of the day
Day8
- Each student must start their final project.
- At the end of day 8 we will have Q&A session about each student project progress. What’s need to be done and what’s not.
Day9
- Trainer will watch closely each student progress.
- At the end of day 9 we will have Q&A session about each student project progress. What’s need to be done and what’s not.
Final Day
- Same day as before, but each student must hand over their project at the end of the day.
- At the end of day , trainer will furnish all the student final projects using 2k lacquer to make the artwork look lively just like a printed poster!
- All the artworks and certificates will be given to the students.
NOTE: The differences between 7, 10 or 14 days course is only how many hours per day. Exp: 7 days (8-10 hours per day) 10 days (6 hours per day) 14 days (4 hours per day)
